Sea of Conquest: How Its Seasons And Updates Actually Work

FunPlus ships Sea of Conquest: Pirate War updates every few weeks around seasons and hero drops. Here's the real cadence, and what is unconfirmed.

Sea of Conquest: Pirate War is published and developed by FunPlus International AG, and runs on iOS, Android and PC. That much is on the record. The update history, by contrast, is one of the harder ones to report honestly — and the reason is worth stating up front.

FunPlus does not maintain a public, dated patch notes archive for this game the way Kuro Games or HoYoverse do. Updates arrive through the app stores and through in-game notice boards. The App Store listing we read shows build 1.1.800, with release notes that say only that a crossover event is nearing its end and that players should claim the crossover Heroes and rewards before it closes. No version name, no date in the note, no itemised changes.

So this is not a patch article. It is a cadence article, which is the thing that is actually documentable.

What this changes for you

  • Treat the in-game notice board as the patch notes. There is no stable web page to bookmark. If you want to know what changed, the notice board and the store release notes are your only first-party sources.
  • The crossover is closing. The official store note is explicit that it is nearing its end and that unclaimed crossover Heroes and rewards will be gone. We do not have a confirmed end date, so the safe read is: claim now rather than next week.
  • Updates land roughly every three to four weeks. Build 1.1.781 and build 1.1.800 are a few weeks apart per third-party trackers. If you plan resource spending around update drops, that is the rhythm — but see the verify list, because even those dates are not first-party.

How the seasons are structured

The game runs on named seasons that bundle new map areas, new growth systems and new heroes, with hero drops and limited crossovers slotted in between. That structural pattern is consistent across FunPlus’s own press announcements for the title: a season launch carries the headline, and smaller builds carry heroes and events.

What we will not do is name the live season. Third-party coverage currently attributes at least four different season names to 2026 builds, and they cannot all be the active one. Anyone publishing a confident season name today is copying a stale article. It is in the verify list until someone checks the in-game screen.

Same for the crossover. There is reporting of a Fist of the North Star collaboration and a Kenshiro hero. It is plausible, it is widely repeated, and it is not something we found on a FunPlus channel — so it stays flagged.

Should you log in?

If you already play: yes, this week, to clear the crossover before it closes. Expiring heroes are the one genuinely time-boxed thing in the game right now.

If you are considering starting: there is no season-launch urgency we can verify, and starting a strategy title mid-season on a mature server is the worst entry point there is. The better move is to wait for the next season announcement, which — on the observed cadence — should not be far out.

And a warning that applies to this game more than most: Sea of Conquest content farms recycle old season names and old gift codes relentlessly. Codes expire. If a code does not come from the game’s own notice board, assume it is dead.
