Wuthering Waves 3.7: What Prism's Illusion Actually Changes for Free Players

Wuthering Waves Version 3.7, “Prism’s Illusion, Heart’s Illumination,” went live on September 30, 2026 with two new Resonators, the Mengzhou area and — the part that matters most to anyone who ever skipped a cutscene — the ability to replay old main quests.
What this changes for you
- You can replay the story you rushed. Main Quest Replay in the Journey Log now covers Version 1.1 “Thaw of Eons,” the Moon-Chasing Festival from Version 1.2 “In the Turquoise Moonglow,” and Version 1.3 “To the Shore’s End.” If you came in late and inherited a plot you never saw, this is the first version where catching up is a supported feature rather than a YouTube playlist.
- Pistil farming gets a second tap. One-Way Conversion lets you turn collectible Resonator Ascension materials picked up in Jinzhou, Black Shores, Rinascita, Roya Frostlands and Mengzhou into Regenerative Pistils. If you have been sitting on hundreds of overworld flowers you never needed, they are now worth something.
- Free accounts get a seven-day login event. Gifts of Waking Moon only asks you to open the game. The exact reward is not confirmed in the sources we checked, so we are not quoting a number — see the verify list.
The patch, in short
Hsin and Suoming arrive through Featured Resonator Convenes, with two matching weapons at launch: Blooming Jadehaven and Unspoken Rue. The new region is the Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou, and the story beat is Chapter IV Act IV: Simulacrum of the Heart — the finale of the Xuanfang arc — backed by a Tales Quest, “Moonlike Heart, Mortal Longing.”
On the build side, 3.7 adds five Echoes (Formrender, Soulfrayer, Skywatch Lancer, Bloomburst Puppet, Jade Nether Serpent) and three new Sonata Effects. That is the quiet half of the patch and usually the one that decides whether your existing teams get better or just older. We are not ranking the new Sonata Effects until the numbers are in front of us.
The event slate is wide rather than deep: Cubie Wars and Echo Erase as leisure modes, Dreams in the Capsule for area exploration, Past Dreams, Traced Seals as a photo collection event, Artisan’s Search for combat, and Beyond the Waves: Land of Xuanfang as the headline exploration event. A permanent event, Blooms for the Shadow, also opens — permanent matters, because it does not punish you for logging in three weeks late.
Events running now
We are deliberately not printing start and end dates for the 3.7 events. The official patch notes page is the authority and we could not read the per-event windows cleanly; inventing them would be worse than omitting them. Every event above is flagged for date confirmation before this article goes live.
Should you come back?
If you dropped Wuthering Waves during the early Jinzhou grind and the story was your reason, 3.7 is the most sensible re-entry point the game has offered: the arc finale is here and the quests you skipped are replayable in-client. If you are an active account hunting power, the decision rests on the three new Sonata Effects and Hsin’s kit, neither of which is settled yet — a new region and a seven-day login are not reasons to re-arrange your week.
The honest summary: a content-rich version with a genuinely useful quality-of-life feature, and no evidence yet of a balance shake-up.
